What we grow
At Fruit Haven Orchards, we grow a wide range of fruits and vegetables that reflect both Michigan’s seasons and our curiosity as growers. You’ll find old heirloom varieties that few farms still carry, alongside new releases that represent the future of fruit growing in the Great Lakes region. From crisp apples and juicy peaches to vibrant tomatoes and sweet corn, everything we sell is grown right here in Lawrence and brought fresh to the Kalamazoo Farmers Market and our farm stand. Each season brings its own colors, flavors, and surprises, and that’s what keeps us growing.

Peaches
We have over 20 varieties of peaches, which extend the season from the second week of July to the end of October. "Red Haven" season is around July 28th - August 7th.

Apples
Our first apples are ready at the end of August, and we have apples available through the winter. The best selection is in mid-late October. We start making cider with the apples that are in season, so watch as the flavor changes as the varieties come into season!

Summer Vegetables
We plant numerous summer veggies like zucchini and cucumber, which are harvested in June - October. The selection varies season to season, as our vegetable culinary interests and likes change. We grow the newest and best flavor vegetable varieties, chosen by us in trials the year prior to be the most delicious and nutritious for you.

Fall Vegetables
Our fall vegetable selection includes over 10 kind of fall squash such as butternut, honeynut, buttercup, acorn, festival, delicata, hubbard, pumpkins. We have a wide variety of carving pumpkins available at the farm stand during the month of October, and during the weekend markets in Kalamazoo.

Cider and Other Products
During the fall season, we have cider pressed for us by a cider mill in Coloma, MI, with apples supplied by us. The cider is pressed right before the Saturday farmers market, and has no preservatives! We offer both fresh and frozen cider and have won awards for our flavor!
