Welcome to Fruit Haven Orchards, and thank you for taking a moment to visit our new website. For more than a century, our family has worked the same Michigan soil, learning, adapting, and growing along with the trees. Until recently, most of our fruit left the farm on trucks headed for packing houses and grocery shelves. It was good, honest work, but it didn’t tell the full story of who we are or why we care so much about what we grow. This site is our way of opening the gates a little wider and inviting you to see what happens behind the rows of trees and crates of peaches.
At Fruit Haven, we see farming as a collaboration between generations. My dad still walks the orchard every morning, inspecting buds and soil like he has for decades, while I bring a bit of horticultural science and curiosity to the mix. Between us, we cover a lot of ground, from the old apple varieties that have stood the test of time to the newest releases that hint at the future of fruit growing in Michigan. We’ve always believed that good farming means balancing tradition with innovation, and that belief shapes everything we do.
Over the past few years, our operation has grown beyond tree fruit to include a wide variety of vegetables, tomatoes, peppers, squash, and sweet corn that round out the season and keep our markets colorful from spring through fall. Every harvest feels a little different, and that’s what keeps us inspired. Some seasons are generous, some make us earn every box we fill, but each one teaches us something new about patience, timing, and the living rhythm of this place.
You can now find us every week at the Kalamazoo Farmers Market and at our small farm stand here in Lawrence. Those Saturday mornings are the best part of our week. We get to meet people who love fresh food, hear stories from longtime customers, and watch kids discover what a real peach or cherry tastes like. If you’ve met us at the market, this website is our way of saying thanks and giving you a place to stay connected year-round.
Here on the site, you’ll find a calendar with our current market schedule and seasonal updates, a look at what we grow, and a newsletter signup for those who want to follow along as the seasons change. We’ll be posting occasional updates from the orchard, what’s blooming, what’s coming ripe, and what we’re learning along the way.
We’re proud of what we grow, but more than that, we’re proud to share it. Whether you’ve been buying from us for years or just discovered us today, welcome to Fruit Haven Orchards. The gates are open, the fruit is ripening, and we’re glad you’re here.
